Paul Jordanous is a trumpeter, pianist, composer & arranger based in South London. 

A regular on the Jazz, Funk and Soul scenes for the last 13 years, Paul has recorded on over 60 releases, including his critically acclaimed debut album 'And Now I Know' with the Paul Jordanous Ensemble. 
Blues & Soul Magazine reviewed 'And Now I Know', commenting: "It has all the hallmarks of a classic, here is an artist who has paid his due, bided his time and struck when the moment was right. Jordanous's calibre as a masterful craftsman is a treasure to behold. Expect alot more from this cat!" Further reviews describe "Jordanous as a formidable player with prodigious chops" (Richie Rainlore), and  "Paul is a force of jazz nature, soaring be-bop lines mixed with the pin-point accuracy of classical technique and achingly gorgeous melodic lines." Over the years, Pauls' bands have included top British jazz musicians including: Mornington Lockett, Paul Booth, Laurence Cottle, Simon Allen, Kit Downes, Lewis Wright, Piers Green, Max Luthert, Duncan Eagles, Trevor Mires, Tom White, Kevin Glasow, Mike Bradley, Chris Nickolls, Mark Rose, Bill Mudge, Sam Leak, Steve Pringle, Leo Appleyard & Alam Nathoo and American musicians Ted Carrasco, Dean Mongerio & Mike Newman. 

He has toured in over 40 countries around the world and performed with: Clark Tracey Sextet, Bobby Worth Quintet, New York Voices, Martha High, Lemar, Joss Stone, Matt Cardle, Shola Ama, Jodie Prenger, The Toasters, Monophonics, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Nine Below Zero, Matt Berry, Omar, Finley Quaye, Mike Garrick Jazz Orchestra, Don Weller Big Band, Norman Connors, Carleen Anderson, Michael Henderson, Mica Paris, Atomic Hooligan, David Essex, Jean Carne, Speedometer, Push, Baker Brothers, Sir Joe Quarterman, SOS Band, Atlantic Starr, Keni Burke, Peter King, Colin Towns Mask Orchestra, Down To The Bone, Don Weller & Alan Barnes among many others. 


Currently Paul has 2 active bands, contemporary Jazz group PAUL JORDANOUS ENSEMBLE, and a 13 piece Jazz/ Funk/ Soul group NEW DIRECTIONS PROJECT. He is also a member of a variety of bands as sideman, including: 

UK Funk bands SPEEDOMETER, PUSH and the JEZEBEL SEXTET; Mod Rock & Blues band NINE BELOW ZERO; NYC ska band THE TOASTERS; UK Jazz/ Pop Saxophonist YOLANDA BROWN, New Orleans groups BRASS VOLCANOES & PRIME TIME STREET BAND; Rock/ Fusion/ Funk band CIRCUS V111; jazz bands BOBBY WORTH QUINTET (with Gareth Williams, Dave Green & Simon Allen), WILL GIBSON SEPTET, TOM WHITE SEPTET, CARRASCO ENSEMBLE, EDDY WHITE SEXTET; & jazz fusion bands GIANNI CHIARELLO & THE SAME BEAT, MR LITTLES NOISY BAND & GOGO. He regularly records and performs with Medway Scene Bands GROOVY UNCLE, and GRAHAM DAY & THE SENIOR SERVICE, and also plays keyboards for Electornic/ nu jazz band URCHIN, and pop jazz swing band SAPPHIRE SWING. 
He is part of the SHADES OF SOUL BAND, backing many American Soul/ RnB Artists for shows around London and the U.K.
Recently he has played for Prog Rock/ Folk/ Jazz artist and TV celebrity MATT BERRY & THE MAYPOLES (IT Crowd/ Mighty Boosh), Folk Singer/ Multi Instrumentalist GILL SANDELL & has joined up with numerous American bands whilst on tour, including Jamaican Jazz/ Ska band VOID UNION from Boston, Psychedelic Soul Band MONOPHONICS from San Fransisco & Blues band NATHANIEL RATELIFF & NIGHT SWEATS, from Denver. 



Paul works regularly with bands for corporate and private functions, arranging horn sections and bands for high profile events across the country, from cocktail jazz to 10 piece pop party band sets. He has worked with countless function bands in major London venues including: The Dorchester Hotel, The Savoy, National Theatre, Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Langham Hotel, Shoredich Town Hall, HMS Belfast, The Arts Club (Mayfair), Microsoft HQ, Somerset House, Thorpe Park, Hyde Park, Heron Tower, One Whitehall Place, Hampton Court Palace, Kew Gardens, Alexander Palace and the Royal Chelsea Flower Show. Recently he has performed at Olympic Park for both the Olympics and Paralympics, for England sporting events at Twickenham Stadium (Rugby), Wembley Stadium (Football - including the FA's celebrated 100 year anniversary), and Lords Cricket Ground. For the Rugby World Cup 2015, Paul performed regularly at both Twickenham and Olympic Stadium, featuring on television numerous times, including for the World Cup Final. He has performed at many celebrity events, award ceremonies, private business and celebratory functions and has performed for Prince William and Kate Middleton, Princes of UAE and for many well known celebrities and multinational companies world wide. Around England he has performed events at (selected): St Georges Hall, Liverpool; Southampton Guild Hall; Bournemouth International Centre (BIC); Birmingham Metropole Hilton; Media City UK, Manchester; Sandown Park Racecourse.
Further afield Paul has performed high end functions on both trumpet and piano for events in Scotland, Ireland, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Russia, Greece, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Maldives, Sweden and Abu Dhabi aswell as many more in the UK and Abroad.
